High winds are common in the plains of New Mexico, the state designer Richard Rogers calls home. But those winds often leave a thing of beauty in their wake: fields of grass bent in beautiful flowing patterns for as far as the eye can see. The Viento takes its name from the Spanish word for wind, a name inspired by the swoop of the D2-steel sheepsfoot blade, which flows elegantly with the curved G10 handle. The blade can be deployed with either the low-profile flipper tab or a full-length fuller, while the IKBSâ„¢ ball bearing pivot ensures the blade opens smoothly. Open or closed, the Viento has a sense of eye-catching movement that feels as good as it looks. And with a two-position back spacer that shifts to reveal an optional lanyard hole, this workhorse of an EDC is as elegant as it is durable.
